Wishlist Decks Analyzed - Pt. 3

If you would like to see former decks I have had on my wishlist, click on anyo f the following links!

Here we go again! If you are coming to this post for the first time, I have posted 2 other blog posts about other decks that are on my wishlist! So let's start!

The Anna K. Tarot deck is the closest to the Rider Waite deck that I am interested in purchasing. This is interesting because I really don't like the way the Rider Waite and similar deck style the cards. I don't get much from them and I know this is weird, but it reminds me of artwork I have seen in christian styled books which I have a visceral reaction to.

So the reason this deck calls to me is because there are some cards that really draw me. For example, the top right card in the image is one I really am drawn to, and similar cards to that. I think it is the yellow in the cards that turn me away from it. But this deck would probably be on the lowest priority of purchasing. I would probably use it more for the times I would need to read for more of the default and traditional meanings tarot is used for.

Next is the Wheel of the Year tarot! A very light and colorful deck. It has a bit of a gypsy feel to it.

This is a pretty deck but my biggest issue is that I am not really feeling the wheel of the year is properly (from the cards I have seen), reflected which is kind of a misnomer to this deck. However I do like the art though it is out of my norm of what I am generally interested in. This again has a bit of a Rider Waite vibe to it so again, would prolly be at the bottom of my purchase list but it also has whimsical aspects to it, gypsy-esque that draws me to it.

There is a huge following for this deck, the Goddess Guidance Oracle deck. It is very popular in the pagan and metaphysical communities.

These cards are gorgeous. These are also educational in a way t open you to goddesses that you may not have heard of before. Each has a saying associated with that goddess that can really be useful for medication, even pulling one card a day to focus on that aspect that day or week. Example: picking the Aphrodite card would suggest you need to focus on love for yourself and others that day or week. This is definitely at the top of my purchase list and can't wait to play with them.

The next deck is the Earth Magic Oracle deck. This deck uses worldly aspects associated with a word or two  to describe what the card means.

Another wonderful deck somewhat similar to the Goddess Guidance deck as in it has a word or two where it defines the card. For example: the Cave card is defined as Sanctuary. I think the more simple explanations on the card the more leeway you can use the cards for. I love how it uses worldly elements because though say some elements as in Gaia, wind, full moon are often used in other decks, things like cave, island, and meadow are certainly not but each definitely has a separate feel to each as we all know. I love it.

Oh snap, an angel deck! The Angel Tarot is one of few decks that have angels that I am interested in.

This deck I like and want because it isn't one that feel like the default expectation of what and angel would look like. There are some darker aspects to some of these cards that resonate with me but they don't have all of the cards looking like say, cherubs floating on a cloud. LOL! These cards have serious depth and some don't even show an angel in each card. The artwork is also very well done as well.

The last deck I will cover in this round is the Self-Care cards which would fall under more the oracle type of cards. This mainly used for mental health reasons.

This deck use one or two word sayings such as passion, rest, and achievement with varying artwork to support the word used to help the individual focus on themselves or those they are reading for. These cards would be pulled specifically for self care and make life just be better as a whole for those needing help. I certainly could use these once a day or week to guide me on things I need to work on or focus on.

These decks in this post vary drastically from angels, to traditional tarot, to self care etc. Each deck has a very specific reason that I want them and how they would be used.

Please join me for the next part to this!

Thoughts on Death

This was a long post I made on FB and thought I would share it here.

okay so don't take this like i am in a dark mood or anything, far from it. I have been happier then I have ever been in my life these past couple months. Just a really healthy energy this year and a real positive outlook. So don't worry lol.
So I have been thinking and so many people avoid talking about it because well most of us don't have to deal with it more then a few times in our lives. Death. I have lost a handful of people in my life, most in very tragic ways and it takes months or years to get over them or the initial pain of losing them, always miss them.
I think about how I would want to be cared for after I am gone. I have come to the conclusion I want to be buried under a hill plot. Somewhere in Pierce county prolly Puyallup or the Tacoma cemetery my fathers family are buried. I would want black lining that is silky, and certain things really hold dear that are small enough to fix, like one of my geisha dolls, my special jewelry, a rose and letters people want to put into it though ya i wont be able to read them it may give others closure.
I know this is really morbid but hey i am no fool i know it will happen some day.
i would want people not to cry but to celebrate my life, like a HUGE party at the park in front of my parents house. not feel bad on how i died but be happy that i don't have to suffer any reason i may have been at the time i died. i want people to laugh at my corky behavior throughout my life, say i was strong, a good mother, a good wife (the second time around lol!) and a great friend.
i often talk about death with my last grandparent. Grandma Klis. I love her and she has dealt with it many times and particularly with people close to her but she again is no fool and talks about as just a fact of life and with no fear. She cracks me up the way she talks about it about wanting to be all dressed up in her fabulous clothes and make up done etc. I believe she would agree with me on celebrating rather then mourning.
Be sad when people die of course, but remember, they wouldn't want you to be sad forever either and would want you to live your life to the fullest and not skimp because you feel you need to be in a chronic state of mourning for them.  ♥

Wishlist Decks Analyzed - Pt. 2

If you would like to see former decks I have had on my wishlist, click on anyo f the following links!

If you are interested in seeing the first few I covered, just scroll down a few posts and you can check it out :) here is part 2!

This deck is called the Dark Angel Tarot. I will stated first that angels in general do not call to me in any way. I always associate angels with the christian believe and the stereotype that goes with them. It just does not resonate with me. HOWEVER this deck is uniquely different.

This deck did call to me. Again you can see a similar pattern in the interest of cards and decks I like, in that it has a very very dark vibe. In some images it almost has a vampiric vibe but definitely a Goth shadow vibe comes with this deck. People forget that angels aren't all love and light because hello? Guess what the Devil was? A fallen angel. The artwork for this is detailed and darkly beautiful and each card is uniquely different from each other. The thing that doesn't resonate with me is that they are tarot cards and not oracle. I think these would have been better as oracle but I can use these either way regardless./

The next deck is the is the Witches Tarot. Being I identify as a witch, any deck that even just states witch I will at the very least check it out.

So I am generally not drawn to this style of artwok but it is done in such a way that it doesn't bother me so much. I really love the backing of the cards with the triple goddess symbol. There is a lil nudity like I think it was the 5 of cups shows side boob lol. The world card is a bit unsettling with the guy in the top left corner. I get a stalker vibe from that. But I have to say this is one that is more at the bottom of the list of me getting. It is much lighter as you can tell then the other decks and personally I don't get a whole lot of witchiness from it? But there is aspects of this deck that call to me. So whenever I get it I will know immediately if it will be a deck that I want to keep or not.

The next deck I want to get at some point is the Osho Zen oracle deck. This is a very popular oracle deck and many many people highly recomend it.

The deck is very "light" oriented and I also get a bit of the Shadowscapes vibe in the atwork with some cards. This is a great deck I can already tell to start off with if you are new to decks. It is very simple in the artwork and the messages, jsut one word generally for each card and a generally simple image. The old guy in the picture again doesnt resonate with me but this is definitely more of an energy style deck. Such as pull one a day when you get up and it will give you nice focus the rest of the day.

This deck is called the Enchanted Oracle. If you are looking fo a strong feminine enrgy type deck, this is definitely one I can suggest to you to check out.

This deck even without checking it out in my hands, has an energy that is just BA! Kind of like when you first hold a crystal with a lot of energy. The artwork is very pretty, female heavy, wistful but also has a balance of dark aspects to the deck too which I like. I don't like a deck that is all light because then I feel that it is not a reality based deck that needs to acknowledge the dark in life. It is also fairy heavy from what I have seen, and don't know if it is all fairy but I do enjoy a good fairy style deck that reflects the truth of fairies and that they aren't all Tinkerbell. :)

Speaking of fairies, the next deck is the Faerie Tarot. This is a very playful and vibrant deck.

This deck is gorgeous and the borders are very unique which you don't find in many decks, usually it is just a plain color border. This deck as you can tell by the cover is very bright. Not all of the ca4ds have fairy on it which I found kind of nice and unexpected, such as having dolphins in it. This would probably be a deck I would let my kid play with as well because it just has a very playful vibe to it. As you can tell I don't have many that aren't a bit serious.

The last one on this blog post will be the Tarot of Celtic Fairies. Can you tell I was checking out fairies at this time when they were added? LOL!

I am Irish on my dad's side so Celtic anything I really enjoy checking out. What I love about this deck is it isn't just the stereotyped fairy with the wings and Tinkerbell style. It has the mischievous ones like leprechauns, brownies, the child like ones, etc. It has some dark cards, but also a dreamy feel to others. I see a good balance in the types of cards. This is a pretty exciting deck to check out.

So that is it for now! There will be a few more "parts" to this series of blogs.  This also gives me the opportunity to review why I want these decks. I would love to hear what you think about these decks I have listed today!

Have a wonderful Valentine day! ♥

Wishlist Decks Analyzed - Pt. 1

So since my last wish list I posted a few months ago i have actually purchased some! All but one have I done a review... wait... 3 things but one deck I haven't reviewed yet but those are coming! If you are interested in  the reviews I have posted videos on this blog or find me on YouTube as eliptica24.
Anyways, I really love thees decks from what I have seen from them and in this blog I will explain why for each one that draws me to them! I may break this blog down into parts so it isn't a novel!
Let's start!

The first deck on my list and that I am waiting to purchase both at the same time which will be a bit pricey is the Book of Shadows Tarot and the As Above and So Below Decks.

So these 2 decks as a set are gorgeous. What I like about them by just observing photos is that they are very balanced in the dark and light aspects. I actually take these decks above the Witches tarot in a closer association  with my own beliefs. They use the elements rather then the wands, swords, pentacles, and cups. They use different words for some of the major arcana as well. The detail of the imagery (and I am really strongly attuned to imagery with decks), go into so much detail that reading them and getting clear answers should be difficult to do. So that is my impression of this deck and why I want it.

The next deck I have on my list is Bohemian Gothic Tarot, 3rd edition.
This deck is very shadowy, and of course Gothic tones. The Gothic tones are not the leather and vinyl black dresses with black lipstick and dreadlocks Gothic, but a muted, sensual, old world vampiric feel of Gothic aspects. The colors are not bright, shadowy, with some hints of red etc. It looks to me that it would be a good deck to find issues with your shadow self, to address issues in relationships, and also hidden aspects of your sexuality. I am not sure if it is computer generated images but regardless, the detail in facial expressions are very exquisite. I also believe that it may have 2 different lovers cards? That or the image I saw showed it from two different versions, not sure though. But I am very in touch with Gothic and shadow aspects of myself so this is why this deck called me.

The next deck and the last one in this block I am reviewing is the Vampires Tarot of Eternal Night deck.

So it is no secret that I love vampires and anything dark. This deck is no exception. This deck has nudity which I really can appreciate in any deck and I think it give some rawness to any deck and easier at least for me to vibe with it. It shows some suggestively violent aspects so again this deck for me would be one to be used in shadow work or darker topics. I love the backing of the cards. That ruby like image will win me over on any deck because I have jewelry I have had since I was little that has always called to me so if I can find images like that, winning! LOL! But ya, if a back of a deck has a shitty image, I most likely won't get it just for that reason.

So that is the first part to this blog series! Thanks for reading and let me know your thoughts!

My Edited Video

Past Life Tarot Fun with the Family

My husband and I (mind you he doesn't believe in tarot or anything), spent a good hour having fun with me doing some basic past life readings, quite a few. I thought it was pretty cool to see each aspect and how they give lessons to be learned in this life. Being the lessons are personal I will leave them out but I will share below the readings I did for him and the few I did for myself.

My husbands first past life was set during the industrial revolution in where I believed was Germany or England, it wasn't too clear. He worked on a shipyard and as we all know back then it was very very unhealthy enviroment. He was married and had kids but was miserable in that situation. He ended up dying in oh his 40's or so by the damage to his lungs by the coal and other unhealthy aspects of his job. So that was fun life lol.

His second past life was a bit more interesting. It was based somewhere in Romania or Bulgaria but the time frame isn't clear. He was a count and had pesants but if you know anything about history, this could have been any time frame but I want to say it was a couple hundred years aback like Vlad the impailer time. Anyways, he was a tyrant (an asshole in al lrespects). He had a lover (a man), but because of the times it wasn't spoke of but everyone knew. He abused his powers as the count or the equivilant of one by playing political games and really screwing with the pesants. He ended up dying when the pesants revolted and killed him in his bad. He was roughly in his 30's. That one made my husband laugh a bit.

His third past life was one I think was his most recent one because it was set in the 1960's. He was a teenage girl who was a cheerleader. She had been abused, sexually abused so wasn't a happy person. She had a football captain boyfriend but her heart wasn't really into it and he was basically an asshole to her as well. She actually ends up dying while at practice because her heart gave out. No one knew about it having issues. So that was an anti-climactic life.

His fourth past life was also anti-climactic. He was a page to a knight in the 1600's during a peaceful time. Not sure where it was though I want to say somewhere in the England, France, area. Anyways he was a happy page and had a good life and everyone liked him. But he died by hitting his head on a tree limb while riding a race with the knight. Broke his neck falling off the horse.

The fifth past life was a bit amusing. He was a professor in England possibly late 1800's early 1900's. He was an older gentleman. He had a relationship with a student who he never married but she ended up working for him and being his lover until he was too old to be such. She was a secretary or something similar. He was a bit of a lecherous man lol. He died of old age roughly in his 70's but had started to lose his  mental faculties tho.

His final past life for now was not a bad one really. He was a plantation owner around the time of Lincoln bu not during the war. He was married to a real wench of a woman but had no kids that I could see. He was a fair owner but he did have slaves. He was in the south, Midwest area.He died around his 50-60's of natural causes. Heart stopping.

The life lessons I gave him were very apt and this wasn't planned ahead but he enjoyed it and that is always good.

NOW here are 2 of mine I did.

The first one I did was about a socialite in Italy during the Renaissance time. She was married and had children but she was romantically interested towards her best friend who was a female but nothing came of that during that time. Sh really did nothing with her life except go see art and artistic things in the area. She died around her 50's or 60's a lil dementia-esque.

The other past life was a french woman in her 20's during a time where they were very liberal, most likely during the 1900's. She was very self indulgent and partied a lot. She never had one man but many. She used men to get what she wanted, a bit of a gold differ. She ended up dying by misadventure by I believe a car accident while drunk or something of that nature.

So I thought I would share this a bit because this is something I feel I am particularly good at with readings and I went into way more detail but these were the key areas. I am also going to post a video of a past life I did for myself this weekend and you can see how I do them! I hope this was interesting!
